Goals for 2007-2008

School Climate

  • The Mission Statement will be reviewed at the September Home and School Meeting.
  • Fr. James Brinkman, Pastor, will share Religion classes with children in Grades 

  • Kindergarten – Eighth Grades.
  • The Older Children/Younger Children Program will begin in September.
  • Students will be represented in the Student Council Assn.
  • Faculty, staff, parents, and children will receive Safe and Sacred Training.
  • Children’s Religious artwork will be displayed in the halls.
  • Prayer Services will be offered throughout the school year.
  • The local Veterans of Foreign Wars assembly is scheduled for November 12, 2007 

  • at 9:00 a.m.
  • Parent volunteers are welcome in classrooms.
  • Science Camp for Grade 6 will be in September.
  • Field Trips will be part of the schedule.

Curriculum
  • +The principal is scheduled to participate in an assessment in-service in June, 2007.
  • Kindergarten – Third Graders will have Tech Classes under the supervision of their teachers and principal.
  • Math Textbooks will be reviewed for purchase in 2008.
  • Parent Curriculum Guides will be available at the Fall Open House.
  • Donations will be solicited for purchasing acoustical panels for the Gym.
  • Academic Night is scheduled for April 3, 2008.
  • Middle School students will be trained to design Power Point Presentations.
  • The Eighth Graders will be administered the WKCE test.
  • Iowa Basics Testing is scheduled for October, 2007.
  • Option C, parent interactive web based site, will be available for progress reports.
  • A special needs class is scheduled for Grades K – 3.
  • Title I starts in September, 2007.
  • Goals are being reviewed throughout the school year at faculty meetings.
  • Peer mentoring will be available throughout the school year.
  • Accelerated Math will be offered to Grades 4-8.

Finances
  • A Budget Sub Committee made up of parents will meet monthly with the accountant.
  • Monthly reports will be available.
  • A Technology Fee has been incorporated.
  • Tuition and Volunteer Assistance is available.
  • Grants will be written.
  • Donations will be solicited.
  • An annual Alumni Campaign will take place in the fall.

Staff Development
  • During faculty meetings, the teachers will review the National Catechist Directory.
  • A hand held assessment tool will be part of peer observations and the principal’s formal and informal observations.
  • Professional Days are available for all teachers.
  • Early Out meetings will include in-services organized by the principal.
  • Teachers will update their teaching licenses.
  • Team Building Activities are available.
